CES M&E Services were contracted by ISG, one the country’s largest main contractors to carry out the full MEP design and build installation for Hatchside SEN School. Our design brief had to incorporate all the requirements for the Special Educational Needs school catering for children with learning disabilities.

We were responsible for design incorporating BIM modelling, installation of all MEP services, inclusive of roof mounted AHU’s, ASHP, life safety systems, security systems and full electrical services.

The MEP installation was designed with no gas to ensure reduction in the use of fossil fuels and provide energy efficiency. The building was heated and cooled via ASHP Air source heat pumps which were mounted on the roof. We also installation PV solar panels so the school could produce its own energy and feed back into the grid.

A DALI lighting control system was installed that provided occupancy detection and daylight dimming to rooms, so that only the required light output was used from each light to save on energy when outside daylight was sufficient.
