Matt Clarke started off his career with a reputable electrical and security contractor based in Essex. Through his time, he saw an opportunity to start up his own business with his long-term friend Daniel Appleby. Having built up many of his own contacts in 2007 he felt was the correct time to spread his wings. Starting off with just a van and tools CES was born. Over the years the business grew and so did the staff and contracts into the multi-disciplinary, multi-million-pound business it is today.
Todays Matt’s main duties are overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, securing new contacts, and ensuring projects are working within budget and maintaining client relationships.
Long-term Matt plans to grow the senior management team, to assist the business in its growth and maintain and build on relationships as well as opening up new opportunities.
Daniel Appleby also started his career off with a London based electrical contractor specialising in the social housing market. Dan’s knowledge of this market help CES grow in this area in the early days.
Dan’s attention to detail has ensured CES reputation within this market place and has maintained these on-going relationships to this day.
Dan’s social housing contracts in the early days was key to a solid and consistent revenue stream and help CES establish its name. This building block of the business in recent years has slowed since housing associations take a lot of the works back in house. Dan’s concentrations now focus solely on the business finances, compliance and general day to day operations.
